CHS is proud to present the 2025 Uncommon Connections Lecture: On Human Origins.

For millennia, scientists, poets, philosophers, and theologians have wrestled with what it means to be human and where humanity came from, whether in the birth of evolutionary thought that still drives the sciences from anthropology to zoology, the foundational creation stories of the ancient Near East, or the very current debates about AI and the possibilities of transhuman existence.

Join Amy Rector, Ph.D. (World Studies) and Andrew Crislip, Ph.D. (History) as they share their work on scientific, archeological, historical, and spiritual perspectives on human origins and its relevance to contemporary culture and the academy.
