Timothy N. Thurber's research and teaching focuses on twentieth century United States history. Thurber earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has written three books: "The Nixon Presidency" (2022); "Republicans and Race: The GOP's Frayed Relationship with African Americans, 1945-1974" (2013); and "The Politics of Equality: Hubert H. Humphrey and the African American Freedom Struggle, 1945-1978" (1998).
