History Now!

History Now! is a space for history enthusiasts at VCU to connect with each other and experience history firsthand. Any student or faculty member may join History Now! regardless of major, GPA or field of study. There are also a limited amount of spaces for non-VCU students. All are welcome!

Weekly Meetings

Meetings are on Wednesdays from 2 - 3 PM in the History Department's conference room located at 811 S. Cathedral Place, 1st floor.

Trips and Tours

Trips and tours have included: Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart tour including their museum and crypt, Shirley Plantation tour, Richmond Battlefield trip, Maggie Walker House tour, a day trip to Historic Fredericksburg, Agecroft Hall, Wilton House, The Valentine, and more!

  • March 7 - Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site
  • March 21 - Shockoe Bottom African Burial Ground
  • April 11 - Historic Fredericksburg fieldtrip
  • April 22 - History Now Game Night

*Transportation for most trips will be via carpool with students meeting at the History Department's front steps. Times will be announced via @HistoryNowVCU Instagram. Dates and times are subject to change. Ticket cost will be covered by the VCU history department.
