Professor Michael L. Dickinson shares Black Realities and White Statues: The Fall of Confederate Monuments - featured in Black Perspectives by the African American Intellectual History Society.

In the article he reflects on the detrimental effects that revisionist history has had on the black community, stating, “American history is far too often the story of dominant, idealized white narratives, but images like the torture of Mr. Floyd illuminate that African Americans regularly confront alternative, heart-wrenching realities.”
